Report: Erdogan offers Putin development of oilfields in Syria
ANKARA, Mar 10 (PRIME) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin participation in development of oilfields in Syria to help the state’s economy, the Sabah newspaper reported citing Erdogan on Tuesday.
“Qamislo is a place having oil. There also are oilfields in Deir ez Zor, which are developed by the terrorists. I have told Putin: ‘Let’s join our efforts to use the oil, if you support us with investment, we will be able to set devastated Syria back on its legs.’ And Putin answered: ‘Maybe’,” he said.
Erdogan added that a similar proposal may be made to Washington.
